The most awesome places visited by Urban Explorer Bob Thissen in 2017
Does the name Bob Thissen ring a bell? We featured his France warships pictures in the beginning of 2017 and ever since Bob travelled the globe to make unique videos for his Youtube channel Explore The Unbeaten Path. And what a year it was for Bob. For example, Bob travelled through the desert of Kazachstan to visit the abandoned soviet space shuttles. Also he visited the forbidden zone of Fukushima in Japan. And that serie is a must watch on his channel. From an abandoned school to a store full with Wii, PSP and Playstation consoles. We asked Bob to select the most awesome places he visited in 2017 and he mailed us this gallery. More of Bob can be seen on his Instagram profile and of course the earlier mentioned Youtube channel Explore The Unbeaten Path. We already heard some of his plans for 2018 and those are also awesome.Open this photogallery >
Warships in France by Photographer Bob Thissen
Bob Thissen is an animator, filmmaker and photographer and he loves to travel. He has been traveling the world looking for unique abandoned buildings and yards and since 2007 he takes his camera with him to document what he finds. However, just documenting these places soon wasn't enough. Bob wanted to show us their beauty and tragedy and started taking more and more care in the way he captured the images.
It's the adrenaline, adventure and experience that drives him to go to these places, but once there he wants to leave us, the viewer, with a feeling of "wow". And I think you'll agree that he is doing a pretty good job so far.

Urban Exploring pictures from Provost Kenneth
The following Urban Exploring gallery was sent into us by Provost Kenneth. He's a 30-year-old Belgian from Ostende and he started doing Urbex shoots about 3 years ago.Provost first got interested in Urbex because of an old and abandoned stone factory in his neighbourhood. The thrill and excitement of being in a place that you were not supposed to be in and which was deserted convinced him that this was what he wanted to do in term of photography. He hopes that people who see his photos start imagining stories and events that could have taken place in those once busy locations, he wants to make them think of what could have been. Provost is working towards publishing his own book and he has a big exposition opening on July 3rd in Ter Yde in Ostende.

Japan Through Takashi Yasui’s Lens
Japan is one of my favorite countries to go to.
For me Japan is the perfect blend between always looking forward and trying to invent the future and remembering and honoring the past.
Takashi Yasui is a photographer from Kyoto and his images capture Japan perfectly for me.

A Month in Cuba by Max Taylor
Last week there was a picture (picture 1) from the Cuban city Havana that was going viral on Imgur. This picture was shot by Max Taylor and we asked him if we could place some more pictures from his trip to Cuba. Max arrived 'illegally' through Mexico City and left as a 'legal' American in February 2015.
About Max: After a month of Urban Apocalypto known as Hurricane Sandy, I became inspired to purchase my first DSLR and set loose with my Canon on New York City and beyond. Finding myself far happier behind a lens than a desk I left my job in finance a year later and began selling my photography on the Brooklyn Bridge. Winning Weather.com and Toyota's photography competition was a tremendous validation of my transition from Wall St to St peddler and allowed me the opportunity to explore Cuba on self assignment.
Enjoy Cuba through the lens of Max and visit his website for more pictures. You can also follow him on Instagram.

Nepal and The Himalaya by Rob Edgerley
I started taking photography seriously around 2 years ago and I've loved it ever since. The photo's taken in this series are from Nepal and The Himalaya on our trek up to Everest Base Camp at 5365m. The day before leaving for Kathmandu I proposed to my now fiancé, so that made this trip that little bit more special. I get great pleasure in sharing my photos with others, especially when I have the opportunity to showcase such an inspiring and beautiful part of the world, like Nepal. See more from Nepal & The Himalaya here. We'd like to thank Rob for sharing his photos. Visit his website for more of his work.
