Damage control team member Ayako Yoneda attends a briefing for an emergency fire drill on Japanese helicopter carrier Kaga in the Indian Ocean, September 25, 2018. More women recruits are making the Self Defence Force (SDF) a more "rounded" organisation, said Yoneda. "When I first joined nine years ago there were few women and it felt like men then didn't know how to deal with us," she said. "I think the men now see things more from our perspective. The SDF has become a gentler place." KIM KYUNG-HOON/REUTERS
