London 2012: The Olympic Games In Pix Day 7
The athletics finally kicked off yesterday and the 80.000 strong home crowd immediately had something to cheer about. Jessica Ennis participates in the heptathlon and she ran a super fast 100m hurdles. Other top stories were the epic semi-final battles in the tennis with Roger Federer's game against Del Potro taking a mighty four and a half hours to get a winner. In the other semi-final British player Murray overcame Djokovic and he will play Federer for the gold. The swimming is coming to an end but not before another wonder swim by a youngster. 15-Year-old Katie Ledecky crushed local hearts by destroying the 800m freestyle field and leaving Britain's darling Rebecca Adlington picking up a bronze instead of the hoped gold. On a side note; the USA swim coaches accused 16-year-old Chinese swimmer Ye Shiwen of being on performance enhancing drugs, cause there was no way she could swim that fast. I wonder what they'll say about Ledecky after her stunning performance. And after the gold was in the bag British cyclist Hindes admitted he fell over on purpose to force a restart, is this not in the spirit of the games either, just like the badminton frauds?
