Euro 2012: Sweden vs England
Not much was expected from the Three Lions before the start of Euro 2012, but a decent game against France and a thrilling victory against Sweden and the English suddenly expect. England started this game well, with a goal from a brilliant header by Andy Carroll, but Sweden fought back and Mellberg scored twice to give Sweden the lead. Nothing was working for England and things only started to go their way once Roy Hogdson had brought on Arsenal winger Theo Walcott. A thunderous shot from him brought England level on goals and mere minutes later a lighting quick drive to the by line and a good cross from Walcott saw Danny Welbeck make it 3-2 to England with a fine backheel finish. Sweden is out of the Euros and England only need a point against home nation Ukraine to progress to the quarter finals. Easy right?
