Tour De France 2011: 3rd Week Highlights
The Tour de France 2011 was one hell of an exciting race. The first week meant fairly flat stages for the sprinters and for the adventurous types. The second week brought the dreaded Pyrenees and this third week brought the Alpes and the final time trial. The Alpes provided what the Pyrenees did not. Breathtaking racing and some heroic moments by the cyclists. In the end 5 riders were within 4 minutes of each other with just a time trial and a show stage in Paris to go. In the end Australia's Cadel Evans won his first Tour de France from brothers Andy and Frank Schleck. Congratulations to him and to Mark Cavendish who won his third straight stage on the Champs Elysees (never been done before) and his fifth overall in the 2011 Tour de France. It means the fastest guy on a bike gets to finally take home his Green Jersey. Join TotallyCoolPix on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date.
